How can thyroid affect your singing?

I have hypothirodism, and I notice my voice changed, before I could reach higher notes (soprano) and now I can't reach those notes and it hurts when I sing, I want to be a singer (in choirs or wathever I just love singing) and this is really putting me down any advice?? Please I would be forever grateful
