I had a baby and developed hypothyroidism. If you had this due to pregnancy please help!?

I gained a lot of weight during pregnancy and now I can't lose it I'm guessing because of this condition. I was just diagnosed with it and am starting treatment. Once I start the treatment will it be easier for me to lose the weight? My doctor says I'll have more energy and it should be, but I was curious as to your experiences. I really want to run again I'm just too fat and too tired to stick with a program right now. I hope that changes! Thanks!
