Subclinical hypothyroidism?

what does subclinical mean? and can its be cured completely? also have been suffering hair loss and have been told by a freind who is a doctor that i should start levothyroxine and iron tablets.. after gettin subscribed to these how long will it take to see changes specially my hair loss..??
