What is the best diet for someone who has hypothyroidism and high cholesterol/triglycerides?

A suggestion would be to meet with a nutritionist. I met with one when I was diagnosed with metabolic disorder (borderline diabetes) and it was a great help to me. I don't know specifics about diet for thyroid disorders but as far as the cholesterol/triglycerides, eating foods low in animal products is best. No junk food or fast food. The best supplements I ever took to control cholesterol are Omega 3-6-9 and Red Yeast Rice. They brought my numbers down alot so I didn't have to take prescription medication for it. You should be closely monitored though controlling cholesterol levels with supplements and diet only. Some peoples' bodies just produce a large amount of cholesterol no matter what they do. Those people need prescription meds in addition to a healthy diet.

Did you know that high cholesterol is associated with having hypothyroidism? Talk with your doc about prioritizing the treatment of your thyroid problem over the other two. Once your thyroid level is brought back into line, ask about having the cholesterol checked. You may find that it is then at a level that makes the doc happy.

I don't know if this will help you but I suggest mediterranean diet. Mediterranean diet is said to be one of the best approach to permanent and healthy life.
